Part I
I thought that my most successful image this week was the one that I attached to the explanatory category. I took this photo at the Hagley Museum, and it shows a small dam that is used to create power for the workshop in the background. I really like this picture because it not only shows the water that is generating the power in the foreground, but the mechanism used to transfer it, and the workshop in the background where the power is used.
I think that the biggest challenge for this assignment was finding subjects to shoot. The weather was not great this week, so I felt like I was limited in that way. I also thought that alternating between how I view things creatively for the different categories was a little bit difficult.
I hope to take my camera with me more often in the coming weeks so that I will always be able to take pictures, even of little, everyday subjects. That way, I can get more experience, and have a better variety of subjects to shoot.
Part II
Hello! I really like the contrast between the houses and the trees and other greenery in the town. I also like the traditional architecture style, but think it is interesting how organized and uniform it is. To improve this particular photo, I think that seeing the street from a different angle, perhaps from that main street itself, could be cool. Overall, I think that you did a good job at conveying the beauty of the area.

This is a really good explanatory photo. This photo makes the viewers feel like they are at the concert. I also really like how the light is going through the smoke and it adds a lot to the feelings of the concert.
I think that this photo perfectly encapsulates what is meant by 'explanatory'. Im very drawn to machines such as this one aesthetically so I especially appreciate this image. I also love how you have captured the surrounding nature and use of one point perspective!
